Concours des Ateliers d'Art de France - Edition 2026
Since 2012, Ateliers d’Art de France - the professional organization representing the crafts sector - has organized an annual competition to showcase the artistic vitality and excellence of craftsmanship across France, rewarding outstanding pieces created by highly talented professionals in each region.
La Fabrique des Métiers d’Art of the Seine-Eure Agglomeration has been selected to host the regional stage of the competition. Thirty-six craftspeople from Normandy applied; twelve art crafts professionals were selected for the chance to represent Normandy in the national competition. Their work will be exhibited from 13 to 31 May at Carré Saint-Cyr.
On Tuesday 12 May, a jury will deliberate on the awarding of the prize and will select the candidates in the “Creation and Heritage” categories who will represent Normandy in the national competition.

La Thanatothèque
La Thanatothèque is a duo of artisans specializing in jewelry taxidermy of invertebrate animals. They reinterpret a 19th-century museum technique known as the “Beauchêne exploded view,” enhancing it through fine jewelry craftsmanship at the crossroads of science, sculpture, and adornment.
Founded by Marion Arbona, an ENSAD graduate, self-taught in this technique and quickly featured at Deyrolle in Paris, the studio welcomed in 2022 the expertise of Guillaume Viel, a jeweler trained at the École Boulle. The pair teach each other jewelry-making and preservation techniques, and this exchange of skills marked the birth of the La Thanatothèque T. studio. At the heart of their creations lies the desire to elevate nature—between science, sculpture, and jewelry.

Myriade
Her background in the textile arts has enabled Manon Auguste to create numerous works in embroidery, featherwork, textile design, paper, and lighting. Through her ongoing exploration of shine, texture, relief, volume, and textiles - particularly via goldwork embroidery—she came to see weaving as a neglected technique, despite its strong potential when combined with these elements. Beyond clothing or household linens, where we readily recognize the woven nature of the material, she was determined to create a textured, relief wall weaving, incorporating a delicate, discreet light to highlight the preciousness of textile matter and to demonstrate the myriad possibilities weaving can offer.
Xavier BARY
Bary infini
Xavier Bary is an artisanal eyewear maker who creates bespoke frames using fine materials. Each piece is entirely handcrafted according to traditional eyewear-making methods, using only materials and assembly components sourced from French and European suppliers and manufacturers. He draws his designs by hand, refines them using CAD software (Illustrator), and then generates 3D machining instructions.

Les Petits Batraciens
Claire Bienvenu’s career has been shaped by her passion for leather and her commitment to preserving traditional craftsmanship. After training in millinery and leather goods, she worked for design offices at luxury houses. She developed strong expertise in leather molding, dyeing, and saddle stitching, striving to combine technical excellence with a refined aesthetic.
Today, she creates her own pieces, fulfills a wide range of commissions, and restores all kinds of items, including automotive upholstery.

Wood is Folies
After studying architecture and then cabinetmaking, Anne Chouville specialized in an ancestral technique - seat caning using twisted fabric cords - and founded her company in 2018. Less fragile than straw, fabric cords do not prick the legs, do not snag tights, and are washable. This technique makes it possible to modernize seating without altering its character, as the weave is exactly the same in fabric as it is in straw. Using fabric - second-hand, moreover - also helps prevent waste: the process produces no textile waste, since all offcuts are reused as stuffing.

Atelier Villard
A creative cabinetmaker, Fabien Ferreri holds qualifications in woodworking crafts as well as a degree from the École du Louvre. His early passion for rural heritage and traditional restoration techniques led him to refine his skills alongside craftspeople with rare expertise. The apparent simplicity of rural buildings - their intimate ties to their local terroir and the generations who have lived there - has had a lasting influence on his aesthetic. From what he calls the “silent books” of stone, earth, and wood, he draws his creative grammar.

Corinne Geffray worked for many years as a fashion stylist and designer before turning to sculpture. Her experience with materials and her taste for hands-on, tactile exploration in the early search for form were naturally reawakened by the new questions raised by an artistic practice freed from functional constraints. Her sculptures reflect a succession of decisions and simple gestures - though technically complex - that resonate with their sculptural, material presence.

With 25 years of experience in theatre, where lighting and set design were at the heart of his craft, Franz Laimé now devotes his practice to cabinetmaking and straw marquetry. Straw marquetry offers a subtle dialogue with light : its reflections and contrasts bring each piece to life, echoing his stage experience. The natural beauty of the materials and their ability to capture light create a timeless elegance. Wood, rye straw, and light are the foundations of my art.

A ceramic sculptor, Florence Lemiegre lives in Assigny, Normandy. She holds a master’s degree in Fine Arts and Art Studies from Sorbonne Paris I, then attended the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD) in Paris, graduating in industrial design. She later joined Georgia Tech University in Atlanta, USA, before returning to France. Ever since, she has pursued her passion for clay, seeking to make the invisible visible through matter. Her works are exhibited in galleries, fairs, and museums in France and abroad.

Laurent Levillain first encountered clay in 1993. He began as a craft potter, but gradually - and almost in spite of himself - artistic freedom took hold. Since 2010, he has been bringing earthenware, stoneware, raw clay, raku, and many other materials into dialogue, assembling them without hierarchy or boundaries. From this have emerged strange characters, mirrors of a humanity both fragile and profound. His ceramic sculptures become a personal diary, a political question, and a joyful celebration of life.

Ingénieur paysagiste de formation, passionate about working with materials as much as about landscapes and the people who bring them to life, Pierre Renault chose in 2023 to change careers and become a creative cabinetmaker, seeking to craft new narratives to support the transitions in our ways of living. Trained in the heart of the Ubaye Valley, he discovered the almost-disappeared craft of wheelwrighting - the making of wooden wheels. His curiosity quickly turned into a passion, as the trade is rich in detail and calls for highly specialized know-how, combining machinery, handwork, knowledge of wood species, and human transmission. From his desire to promote this craft were born ATELIER ROULADES and his first work, “Le Mono d’Antan.”

Normandie Vitrail
Stained-glass artist Ludivine Rougeolle works between restoration, the creation of contemporary pieces, and interior architecture at her studio, Normandie Vitrail.
The “Design and Crafts” training course, organized in spring 2024 by La Fabrique des Métiers d’Art and led by JBSB, gave her the opportunity to re-examine her relationship with stained glass. Beyond its function as an enclosure and its symbolic or liturgical role, stained glass is above all a vehicle for emotion. Standing before a stained-glass window is a fully sensory experience: light and color pass through us, surround us, and overwhelm us.
